Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert

One of the most beautiful villages in France. Step on the way to Compostela, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and its church, jewel of the Languedoc's Romanesque art, occupy a wild site at the entrance of the Verdus gorges and the circus of the Infernet. From the Place de la Liberté and its imposing 150-year-old plane tree, the village spreads its narrow streets where you can admire Renaissance mullioned windows, twin bays and gothic lintels.

The Cirque de Navacelles

Lake Salagou

Created at the end of the 60s to regulate the floods of Lergue and Hérault, this artificial lake of 7km long is today melting in a surprising landscape, surrounded by mountains colored with red (the "ruffes"). Fishing, water sports, swimming and hiking will delight nature lovers.
